Butterfield closed at $33 on volume of 3807 shares, but the Bank of Bermuda recovered 37.5 cents to close at $22.50 on volume of 800 and Commercial Bank gain 25 cents on volume of 1,000 to match its 1994 high of $12.
Yesterday's other loser was Belco, which dropped 50 cents to close at $21 on volume of 1492, BFCL traded up 25 cents to close at $9.25 -- a new high -- on volume of 163.
Bank of Bermuda 9 percent US dollar notes were unchanged at $107.50 on volume of 180 units.
