The conference, organised by Coopers & Lybrand and Hawksmere PLC, will take place from October 12 to 15 at the Princess Hotel.

"Major themes of this year's congress will be the future of Lloyd's, market trends in Bermuda (with emphasis on CAT and ART), European market and regulatory developments, financial reporting standards and US regulations and in particular pollution, and environmental issues,'' said a release from Coopers & Lybrand and Hawksmere.

These issues will be addressed in depth by by industry representatives, brokers and underwriters, regulators, lawyers and accountants.

Local speakers will include Malcolm Butterfield, registrar of companies; David Lines, Cooper & Lybrand; Michael Butt, Mid-Ocean; Jonathan Crawley, Sphere Drake Underwriting Ltd.
