Daily trading underway
weekly to daily trading.
As a response to this change, The Royal Gazette today introduces a new format for the listing of stocks (see page 10).
A daily column will run from Tuesday to Saturday, inclusive, every week, displaying bid and offer prices, closing prices, volume and net change of local companies.
Mutual funds and international companies, which do not trade locally but are listed on the Exchange anyway, will not be included in the newspaper on a daily basis.
However, they will appear on Mondays when we will print the full stencil that was previously carried in the newspaper on Wednesdays.
Monday's stencil will repeat the trades carried in Saturday's edition and will also carry other information, such as dividend declarations.
Readers should note that, as from yesterday, the Bermuda Exchange Index was re-based to 1,000 and now includes all listed common shares on the Exchange.
An analysis of trading activity on the Exchange will in future only be carried when it is warranted.
As a point of interest, shares in three companies were traded yesterday.
Bank of Bermuda stock went up by 50 cents to $43, Bank of Butterfield stock fell by 25 cents for the second day running to close at $26.50, and Belco stock went up by 50 cents.
