A spokesman for Meyer Agencies said Bermuda Islander was still in Salem, New Jersey after experiencing engine trouble while en route to the Island last week.
As a result, the Argosy will today bring in a shipment originally scheduled for the beginning of this week. And an as yet un-named vessel will temporarily take over future shipments.
Also, at Container Ship Management, a spokeswoman said the Apollogracht was continuing to perform the duties of the Oleander .
On board were 45 refrigerated containers, 103 dry containers, and three loads of structured steel.
The Oleander is expected back in action on October 2.
A number of unusual oceangoing visitors made brief layovers during the week.
On Sunday, a US Navy submarine surfaced to allow a crew member compassionate leave. The next day a crew member aboard a second submarine was brought ashore after suffering a serious arm laceration.
The injured man was treated at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and later flown home.
On Monday the research vessel Jean Carcot en route from St. Croix picked up a technician before moving on to New York. On the same day four technicians were picked up by the cable ship Coastal Connector sailing out of Macae and bound for Portsmouth, New Jersey.
And the Odranes was expected to arrive today at Penno's Wharf to discharge gravel.
In cruising news, the Song of America celebrated her twentieth voyage of the season this week with 1,430 passengers.
The ship arrived on Wednesday and is scheduled to return to New York tomorrow.
Both the Zenith and Norwegian Crown arrived on Monday from New York.
The ships carried 1,396 and 964 passengers, respectively, and will leave today after trading berths in Hamilton and St. Georges.
Tuesday saw the arrival of the Norwegian Majesty , from Boston, and the Horizon , out of Philadelphia, where she formed the backdrop for the opening of the new Philadelphia cruise terminal.
The Majesty carried 1,058 passengers, and the Horizon had 1351. Both ships depart tomorrow.
