Police said the wet weather was the likely cause of a three-car pile-up on Wednesday morning at the junction of North Shore Road and Langton Hill in Pembroke.
One car stopped and two others travelling behind got involved in the shunt.
The cars, however, were only slightly damaged and no charges have been brought.
And the Fire Service was also called out to a "minor flooding situation'' at the Anglican Cathedral.
The report of a blocked gutter came through at 11.29 a.m. One truck and five personnel attended the scene where they unclogged the gutter.
Firefighters also pulled the plug on a potential flood at a Hamilton grocery store.
The Co-Op Supermarket reported the possible flooding at 9.32 a.m. Firefighters installed a submersible water pump into one of the tanks which prevented it from overflowing.
