The Stock Exchange, which meets once a week, has long been seen as antiquated and plans have been in the pipeline for change for more than a year.

Now it is seeking a project manager to supervise "its development'' during the process of incorporation.

The successful applicant must be familiar with the operations of typical stock exchanges as he or she will be responsible for the adoption of proper trading procedures.

They will also oversee trading rules, listing rules and trading membership rules.

Future trading on the Stock Exchange will depend on the Project Manager. It will mean liaising with authorities over rules and regulations.

Mr. William Dolan, chairman of the Bermuda Stock Exchange, was not available to comment on the advertisement for the project manager which appeared in The Royal Gazette .
