Exchange down in active trading
slowed down the pace slightly yesterday, with shares edging down in still active trading.
The Exchange dropped 4.43 points to close at 1,062.16. Five different listings were traded.
On Friday, the Exchange which has been mired in a slump since the New Year, rocketed up 16.49 points on volume of almost 700,000 shares worth as much as $7 million.
Bank of Bermuda, which led the trading on Friday with a $5 million trade of 259,991 shares, lost the 50 cents it gained to close at $10 on volume of 361 shares.
The drop offset gains by the Bank of Butterfield, Bermuda Bakery and the Telco.
Butterfield shares increased 50 cents to close at $31 on volume of 1000 shares.
Telco shares were up 50 cents to 260 shares to close at $34 while Bermuda Bakery was up 25 cents to $31 on volume of 800.
Belco was unchanged at $18.875 on volume of 8,579 in the most valuable trade of the day at $161,000.
