Fireworks for Harbour Nights
Nights and usher in a new tourist season.
To coincide with the arrival last week of Horizon -- Bermuda's first cruise ship of the season, the Chamber of Commerce has planned an exciting opening night.
Slated for 9:15 p.m. the fireworks display will light up Hamilton Harbour.
Meanwhile gombeys and the Empress Menen African Dancers are set to perform along Front Street for spectators.
Sporting a polished new image with vendor stalls specially designed by the Chamber of Commerce, secretary of the Corporation of Hamilton Mr. Roger Sherratt yesterday predicted this year's Harbour Nights season would be "the best ever.'' He added that Front Street between Queen Street and Parliament Street should be cleared of motor vehicles by 6:30 p.m. The road will then be closed to all vehicles until 10 p.m.
Parking will be available at No. 1 Shed and taxis may park in special bays near the Ferry Terminal.
