customers over $5,000 for fans they purchased over the year.

But Gorham's Ltd. general manager Rod Ferguson said the fault was in the supplier's hands who had overcharged the store in the first place for the eight different models of Duracraft fans.

Mr. Ferguson said the error was spotted when staff were setting pre-Cup Match special prices on the fans.

Now the store is willing to rebate the difference to everyone who has their receipt showing the overcharge. The eight models of fan are DT-12, DT-124, DS-1512, DS-1600, DS-1606, DV-518, DW-627 and DW-628.

Mr. Ferguson said he was anticipating that some customers might not hear about the rebate while others may have discarded their receipts so the unclaimed portion of the $5,276.07 total overcharge would be donated to the Salvation Army on August 11.

BELCO TRAINING SCHEME RECEIVES ACCREDITATION BUC Belco training scheme receives accreditation The Bermuda Electric Light Company's training programme for professional engineers has received a five year accreditation from two international engineering societies.

Belco president Garry Madeiros made the announcement this week.

The accreditation comes from the Institution of Electrical Engineers and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

Both are societies geared toward setting the standards for the profession.

Before the accreditation, there was no formal mechanism for local engineers to receive an internationally recognised professional designation.

Upon completing an undergraduate degree, engineers normally work abroad for a number of years and complete overseas examinations before receiving such a designation.

The designation is a requirement for employment in many countries and for many types of jobs.

Mr. Madeiros said: "We can now provide any recently graduated, or for that matter any engineer working at Belco, the opportunity to obtain their professional status in Bermuda.

"This designation not only ensures worldwide acceptance of their professional status, but also guarantees that a specific level of competence has been obtained by these individuals.'' MARINE POLICE SEN APPEAL TO BOAT OWNERS POL Marine Police send appeal to boat owners Marine Police are appealing to boat owners to make sure their punts and tenders are properly marked with their registration numbers and Marine and Ports decal.

According to Police, many punts have been found recently drifting in harbours and bays and Marine Police have no way of identifying those recovered unless they are marked with the registration number.

If you discover your punt is missing, you should contact Marine Police at 295-0011, as it may have already been discovered.
