He estimated gross claims to BF&M at $1.2 million.

He anticipated that amount was not likely to increase substantially.

Argus Insurance Company Ltd. manager Mr. Larry Osborne estimated that company's gross insured losses at $400,000-$450,000.

"I do not imagine we will get more claims,'' he added.

Felix generated 75 claims for Argus, among them "quite a few motor claims'' from owners of cars parked in the long-term parking lot at the airport and five boat claims, he said.

Colonial Insurance Company Ltd. has received 60 claims totalling about $500,000, said general manager Mr. William Madeiros.

"We did well compared to the damage done by Hurricane Emily,'' he said.

Colonial's largest single insured loss from Felix was the roof at the Ingham Brothers garage on Bakery Lane, said Mr. Madeiros.

Colonial was also hit by losses to vehicles parked at the airport, he added.

"We had a man there the next morning, he established which vehicles would have to register claims and made efforts to contact the owners. We, like BF&M, were proactive,'' he said.

The original claim estimate of $2.5 million appears to "still be about right'', he said.

Kitson Insurance Services Ltd. general insurance manager Mr. David Goodman estimated that company faced non-hotel claims worth $300,000 which included marine claims.

He also cited some claims stemming from cars parked at the Airport.

"We had three cars written off,'' he said.

British American Insurance Company Ltd. general manager Mr. Edward Figueirado said that company experienced "minimal'' claims.

Three claims were associated with power surges which damaged appliances, he said.
