Light week, says Meyer
Meyer Agencies experienced "a very light week'' with just the arrival of the container ship Bermuda Islander on Monday.
The ship brought 89 containers, including eight refrigerated ones, from Salem, New Jersey. It sailed the next morning.
The Somers Isles is scheduled to arrive on Sunday from Florida. There was no word on the amount of cargo.
Container Ship Management reported that the Oleander arrived on schedule last Sunday with 34 refrigerated containers and 139 containers, including five cars, one loader, structural beams and three boats.
It left the Island last Tuesday morning.
John S. Darrell was gearing up for a busy week with the arrival of the oil tanker Kapitam Rudnev from Mobile, Alabama.
The ship will go to the Esso pier in St. George's to pump gas, oil, and jet fuel before moving to Dockyard to discharge its remaining cargo.
Next Monday, the Panamanian-registered cement ship MV Jui Ho will arrive from Baltimore, Maryland to commercial berth in Dockyard. And the next day, the USS McInerney frigate will also visit Dockyard. It is scheduled to leave next Wednesday.
The Canadian deep submergence experimental ship HMCS Cormorant will return to Hamilton from exercises tomorrow.
