The Exchange closed up 3.74 points at 1165.20 in fairly heavy activity.

Butterfield shares closed up .375 cents at $28.50 on volume of 1,709 shares.

The trade brought the bank within 25 cents of its high for the year.

The biggest trade of the day came in Bank of Bermuda shares, which closed unchanged at $22.625 on volume of 12,515.

Other trades at unchanged prices included: Bank of Bermuda 9% subordinated notes, 80,000 at $107.50; BF&M 9% notes, 15,424 at $12, and Telco, 700 shares at its high of $401 .
