Malabar to receive one of last US Navy visitors

John S. Darrell also reported that a US Navy ship the USS Aubrey Fitch will arrive at HMS Malabar from Jacksonville, Florida for refuelling on Monday. It is scheduled to leave the next day.

In other shipping news, Meyer Agencies reported that the Somers Isles arrived on Monday with 98 containers, including five refrigerated containers.

She also had on board one boat, one road sweeper for the Corporation of Hamilton, one bobcat, and a repaired baggage loader for Aircraft Services of Bermuda/Bermuda Aviation Services.

The container ship was scheduled to leave Bermuda today.

The Bermuda Islander also arrived on Monday with 80 containers, including six refrigerated containers and one boat.

She left on Tuesday morning.

Meyer also reported that the US Navy supply ship Strong Cajun arrived from the Azores last Friday at Marginal Wharf at the US Naval Base in St. George.

She left Bermuda the same day for Norfolk, Virginia after loading empty containers.

Strong Cajun is scheduled to return to Bermuda tomorrow morning to drop off containers at the base. Then she will make her way back to the Azores.

Container Ship Management reported that the Oleander arrived on schedule last Sunday, with 128 dry and 33 refrigerated containers. It also carried building-related equipment, a truck and trailer.

She left Bermuda last Tuesday morning.
