The 215-metre ship, with a grain cargo, suffered mechanical difficulties off Florida and is being towed by the Atlantic Salvor , a 61-metre American tug, to the Azores or Gibraltar. The bulk carrier's ultimate destination is Greece.

The Boreas , with a crew of 27, originated out of Port Canaveral, Florida.

Atlantic Salvor will take on fuel and supplies in Bermuda then resume her journey, bulk carrier in tow, across the Atlantic.

Capt. John Moore of Meyer Agency said that he expected the vessel to leave Bermuda today destined for Greece.
