Butterfield -- drove the Bermuda Stock Exchange Index up 19 points on Wednesday as the Exchange's bull market continued.

The index closed at 1,287.98, up 1.53 percent, on volume of 280,289 shares worth almost $3.95 million.

More than 263,000 Bank of Butterfield shares traded, as the stock rose 38 cents to close at $14.38. Bank of Bermuda shares were up 50 cents to clsoe at $26 and Bermuda Home shares rose 13 cents to close at $8.63.
