its new Europe office will be headed by Gerd Strecker.

He will join Mid Ocean as senior vice president responsible for developing reinsurance business in Europe.

Dr. Strecker, 55, will be based in Munich, Germany with the appointment effective August 1.

He brings to Mid Ocean over 20 years of experience in the German reinsurance industry. He began his reinsurance career at Bavarian Re, a Swiss Re subsidiary, and was recently with Frankona Re where he served in various positions.

YOUNG JOINS ISL BOARD APP Young joins ISL board International Services Ltd. (ISL), a closely-held Bermuda management company, announced that Reid Young has joined the company's board of directors.

Mr. Young already holds a number of directorships of exempted companies associated with ISL.

ISL president Michel Drew said the addition of Mr. Young is a "very positive step'' in ISL's "continued efforts to provide the very best services possible to international entities operating from Bermuda.''
