Ming named NDC prevention officer

Calvin R. Ming Jr. was yesterday appointed NDC prevention officer effective tomorrow.
The prevention officer provides administrative and planning support to the Board the NDC.
Mr. Ming will also be involved in NDC prevention projects and programmes on a administrative and technical level.
During his time as the divisional coordinator for social services in the Salvation Army, Mr. Ming became thoroughly recognised in the community.
He helped establish and coordinate the NDC funded aftercare programme for the Salvation Army and served as the first executive director of the National Alcohol and Drug Agency (NADA).
NDC chief executive officer Dr. Derrick Binns said: "His commitment to the field is unquestionable. His acceptance by the community is unparalleled.
"We believe that Mr. Ming's appointment will enhance the NDC's ability to continue to mount a meaningful and effective programme to combat the use and abuse of illegal substances in Bermuda.'' DRUGS DGS
