SEASONAL SERVICE TO TAKE OFF FLY Seasonal service to take off A seasonal service from the US east coast to Bermuda is set to fly again next summer.
US Airways confirmed that it planned to run a La Guardia daily service next year, from May to October, after reinstating the route earlier this year.
The airline originally dropped the service last December, after what were understood to be low load factors.
But after rival TWA filed a plan to fly the route, US Airways had a change of heart and resinstated the summer flight.
Eventually, TWA decided not to pursue the opportunity and left the route to US Airways.
ROAD DEATH INQUIRY CONTINUES OBT AC Road death inquiry continues Police are continuing their investigation into the fatal road traffic accident that took place on Court Street last Saturday night and are appealing for witnesses.
The accident took place just after 12.30 a.m. on November 18 and P.c. Neil Tunnacliffe, who is heading the investigation, is particularly interested in speaking with a Portuguese woman who was with her children and may have witnessed events leading to the accident.

FIRE CAUSES $20,000 DAMAGE FIR Fire causes $20,000 damage An unattended pot led to a fire which caused $20,000 of smoke damage at a Mount Hill Mews home in Pembroke on Friday afternoon. The blaze, which was confined to the kitchen area, was put out by seven fire fighters from three appliances.
Fire crews were also needed to put out a shed fire at the quarry in Dunscombe Road, Warwick on Friday morning. Initial reports indicated somebody might have been in the building but nobody was found after a search.

Finance Minister Eugene Cox said yesterday that he would consider any requests from businesses to open on those days.
Each application will be considered on a case by case business, he continued, and those shops being granted permission to stay open will only be allowed to conduct business between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on December 17 and 24.
