New roles for pair at ACT

manager as of July 1. Mr. Parker, currently the director of sales and marketing at the company, will be responsible for all operations of the company. Christopher Eaton, senior account executive, has been appointed as ACT's sales manager. He will assume responsiblity for the sales operation of products and services. With annual revenues of about $10 million, ACT is in the business of providing computer systems and services locally. The company has 35 employees. Mr. Parker joined ACT in 1988, and developed the company's corporate sales strategy before becoming sales and marketing manager in 1992.

"He has contributed greatly to the success and direction of the company in the face of commpetitive pressures, industry consolidation, and declining hardware margins,'' a press release stated.

Mr. Eaton joined ACT in 1996 as account executive, becoming senior account executive the next year.

"During this time he has successfully developed new business areas including the company's Microsoft licensing programme which has allowed for significant savings and efficiencies for customers using Microsoft software,'' the release stated.

Erich Hetzel and John Robbins are the principals and founded ACT in 1983. They will assume responsiblity for group development of all companies affiliated under North Rock Ventures.

The group includes ACT, The Complete Office, ACT products store on Reid Street, Internet service provider North Rock Communications, and voice and data communications company Switchworx.

ACT is headquartered at Williams House on Reid Street, and has a service centre on Victoria Street.
