Mr. Grearson will be taking a part-time position with Government Information Services, assigned to the Bases Transition Team, which is managing Bermuda's takeover of the United States military bases.

His duties will be to help inform the public about transition activities and to record an historical record of events leading to the final withdrawal of US Navy personnel.

Mr. Grearson, who is married to a Bermudian, will also be involved in private family business.

Bermudian Ms Carol Parker will become news editor on January 1. Ms Parker, who has been with The Royal Gazette for six years, is currently a sub editor.
