NLP meeting
Election forum to gauge public opinion on a range of issues.
Party spokesman Graeme Outerbridge said: "The forum will be on the social, political and economic challenges that Bermuda faces as we enter the new millennium. All are welcome at this important forum.'' Mr. Outerbridge added that people's views will be "carefully listened to and debated.'' In addition, Hands of Love chief Fern Wade will address Bermuda's social challenges and party leader Charles Jeffers will give an overview of the Bermudian political landscape.
Mr. Outerbridge, likely to contest a seat at the General Election, will discuss the economic challenges facing the Island.
He said: "This is an election year and the NLP are keen to hear from the Bermudian people.'' The meeting -- the first attempt to restore the flagging fortunes of the party, hit by two disastrous by-election results in Devonshire South and Pembroke West, will be held on Tuesday, February 17, at the Leopards Club in Hamilton.
