The number for Directory Assistance has now officially been changed to 411 from 902.

The 411 number was introduced earlier this year but the 902 number was still in operation until last month.

Bermuda Telephone Company general manager Mr. Ernest Pacheco said: "We entered the 411 number in April. It was published in the new telephone books and has been advertised.

"We have changed it to bring it into line with the rest of the North American network.

"It will also make things simpler for visitors from the United States who want to use the telephone.''
