``posts'' are being made redundant.

And Telco management were involved in meetings yesterday with the Bermuda Public Services Association to discuss how the changes would be made with the least possible effect to the union's members.

Acting General Manager Mr. Eugene Saunders said: "There are nine posts that will become redundant on September 2, this year.

"We will attempt to accommodate the people who happen to be in those posts in other parts of the company.

"As other posts become available we will try to accommodate the people involved here. I know that at least one person has already been found a position.

"The BPSA have been advised and we will be working within the collective agreement to look at these redundancies between now and September.'' Mr. Saunders said the posts were being made redundant as part of Telco's attempts to improve technology as part of their service to the public.

He said: "There is no longer a requirement for the posts. This effectively enables the company to be more efficient with our provision of telephone services.''
