`Professor of Wall Street' to run US brokers course
Island designed to get them geared up for the up-coming Series 7 exam.
Alvin Hall, dubbed "The Professor of Wall Street'', will be instructing the three day course. The course is run by the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX), and will be held at the Bermuda Insurance Institute September 14 to 16.
Mr. Hall, president of training company Cooperhall Press, Inc., is the author of several books and articles on securities-related topics and has been featured on BBC TV in the UK.
The course costs $1,000 for BSX trading members and $1,300 for others. Course fees also cover a two-volume written guide and a Windows-based computer disk containing about 10,000 questions that simulate those on the Series 7 exam.
"The course places special emphasis on the most heavily tested areas of the exam, such as debt securities, options, investment companies, new issues, customer accounts, retirement plans, trading markets, analysis and industry regulations and includes four tests, each designed to simulate the `real' Series 7 exam,'' a press release stated.
Series 7 is a required US broker and dealer accreditation exam required for anyone who wants to become a general securities registration representative.
Contact Joanne MacPhee at the BSX at 292-7212 for information. Registration closes September 4.
