Reinsurance Co. Ltd. of Bermuda. Zurich Re of Switzerland has also bought a 9.9 percent share in the company.

Inter-Ocean Reinsurance is a Bermuda based company with nine employees on the Island. The company had over $200 million in estimated premium volume last year.

The other investors in the company are Munich Re Group subsidiary American Reinsurance Co., Argus Insurance Co. Ltd., Associated Electric & Gas Insurance Services, Hannover Re, La Mutuelles du Mans, Lincoln National, Reliance Insurance Co, and the Westfield Insurance Co.

"The financial support, capacity, and expertise offered by each of these companies give Inter-Ocean Re unique market advantages,'' company president Mervin Holland said.

Inter-Ocean is managed by Am-Re Managers (Bermuda) Ltd. The company has been doing finite risk business in Bermuda for the past nine years and is working on launching new products in the year ahead.

The products include providing large limits for loss reserve guarantees in mergers and acquisitions, weather degree day swaps and credit derivatives.

Standard & Poor's has given the company an `A' rating. The company has an `A' minus rating from A.M. Best Co.

CONYERS, HUNTER WINS AWARDS AWD Conyers, Hunter win awards The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bermuda has awarded the fellowship designation to Thomas Conyers, co-managing partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Scott Hunter, managing partner at Arthur Andersen & Co.

The designation recognises members for distinguished service. A dinner will be held on February 27 at the Mid-Ocean Club in honour of the recipients.
