Retail workers get service lesson
launch of a college course for retail workers.
The new retail diploma will offer courses to any staff who come into contact with the public, with the aim of improving service to world class standards.
In conjunction with the National Training Board, the Visitor Retail Division of the Chamber of Commerce is hoping to put together a programme to enable Bermuda's shopping experience to rival global competitors.
The scheme, if it gets off the ground, was principally aimed at retail but it is likely other sectors will come on board.
Ian Smith, retail chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, said the course evolved out of a pilot programme held earlier this year with 20 shop assistants.
"We have a service value proposition in Bermuda, the issue is being driven...so we can include everybody,'' he said.
