RIMS hailed as triumph
Bermuda.
Tourism Minister David Dodwell said the event provided a chance to sell Bermuda and attract visitors.
"We saw our expanded presence at RIMS as an opportunity to support our partners from the international business sector in a very tangible way, while capitalising on the great interest among conference attendees about our Island as a vacation or corporate group destination.'' Some 10,000 people attended the week-long 35th annual Risk & Insurance Management Society conference.
Said Mr. Dodwell: "Our team were kept very busy at the Bermuda booth, and addressed a large number of enquiries from many delegates; we even obtained good leads for corporate meeting groups for later this year.'' Mr. Dodwell added he was delighted with the response to a cocktail reception in Atlanta for people in Bermuda's tourism industry.
Said Mr. Dodwell: "This past week has been a prime example of how, in the appropriate setting, an initiative based on a collective approach, which puts Bermuda first, can enhance our overall message to key target markets overseas.'' TOURISM TOU BUSINESS BUC
