Bermuda House Lane shopping arcade off Front Street, she would soon find herself joined by three of her sisters, including her twin sister -- all operating their own businesses.
Mrs. Juanita Bascome who owns Rayjuan's Intimate Lingerie, Mrs. Margaret Cumberbatch, owner of Extensions Souvenirs and Gifts, Mrs. Lynette Tucker owner of Angel's Delight, and Mrs. Greaves are sisters, while the latter are twins as well.
The remaining two businesses are; Earrings and Things and Sterling's of Bermuda, owned by Mrs. Debbie Wade and Tina Sterling respectively.
The new shops were not a surprise though, as Mrs. Greaves said she suggested her sisters rent space also.
The group are located behind Bailey's Ice Cream and Food D'Lites in the mews.
The six businesswomen plan a grand opening next Wednesday.
Mariah Products, which opened on May 1, offers items from gombey dolls to camera film and souvenirs. She also sells vitamins, seasonings and skin-care products. The other shops offer items from lingerie to cosmetics, knit crafts, gifts and Bermuda cedar crafts. The cedar crafts are the work of Mr. Craig Jones.
Mrs. Greaves said it was not practical for her to rent large floor space in a store but she hopes to run a larger store in future.
Mrs. Bascome, Mrs. Wade and Mrs. Tucker agreed competition will be "friendly''.
Extensions and Sterlings should be open later this week while the other four shops are already up and running.
