Street and car park closures for Tall Ships 2000
a number of street and car park closures for this week's Tall Ships 2000 events.
There will be no parking along Front Street between Parliament Street and the Ferry Terminal from 6 a.m. on June 8 until noon on June 12.
There will be no traffic allowed on Front Street between Parliament Street and Bermudiana Road and on Burnaby Hill between Reid and Front Street from 6 p.m.
to 11 p.m. on June 8.
Traffic will also be banned on Victoria Street between Washington Street and Wesley Street and on Wesley Street between Victoria Street and Church Street from 5 p.m. until midnight on June 10 and June 11.
Elsewhere, Front Street between Queen Street and Parliament Street and Burnaby Street from Reid to Front Street will be closed from 3.30 p.m. until 5 p.m. on June 11.
And Pitts Bay Road between Woodbourne Avenue and the western part of the City of Hamilton will also be closed with no parking available on June 10 between 4.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m.
Number One Shed's interior parking area closed yesterday and will reopen at 7 a.m. on June 13. The outside parking area will close at 11 p.m. on June 8 and will reopen at 7 a.m. on June 13.
Number Five Car Park will be closed from 6 a.m. on June 8 to 5 p.m. on June 12.
The waterfront parking bays in front of the Number Five Car Park and the Number One Shed will be off limits to cycles.
The City Hall Car Park will close from 6 p.m. on June 9 until noon on June 12 but sign posted areas will be open for a maximum of two hours on June 8 and 9 with motorists allowed one visit per day.
Extra cycle parking will be available on Front Street between Parliament Street and Court Street and at the property which formerly housed World Distributors on Par-la-Ville Road.
On June 10, the Bulls Head Car Park will offer free parking and the Bermuda Train Company will be on duty to ferry people between the lot and the city centre. Tall ships from the A and B Classes will berth alongside the cruise ship berths -- Docks Seven and Eight. Other classes will be berthed at business properties along the Hamilton waterfront and at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club and the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel.
