Chiefs from Bermuda's two oil supply companies have tossed aside concerns that the Island may experience a fuel shortage.
Both Ed Edelson, general manager of Shell Bermuda, and David Rose, oil products business manager of Esso Bermuda, said they did not foresee Bermuda having a problem with supply.
"We have a substantial inventory'', said Mr. Edelson. "And as a supplier to Belco we work closely with them to ensure their needs are being met.
Mr. Edleson said Shell has "months of supply of gasoline and diesel fuel, on hand''.
Added Mr. Rose, "we at Esso have enough product in our tanks to last Bermuda until mid December and we do not expect that there will be any problems with the delivery of our next shipment.''
