Tall ships grace the Island

The Eye of the Wind is a 132-foot brig that arrived at Penno's Wharf in St.

George's from Anguilla yesterday but has yet to file a departure date.

Tall ships Corwith Cramer and sister ship, Westward , arrived yesterday evening into St. George's but have not determined a departure date.

Other shipping includes a flurry of motor and sailing yachts, arriving and departing this week.

The motor yachts, 112-foot Unplugged cutter rig and the 116-foot Salee arrived last week. The Unplugged will stay two to three weeks and the Salee left on Sunday.

And the sailing yachts, 80-foot Ngoni and 131-foot Mirabella , sailed from St.

George's on Monday. Ngoni arrived on Saturday and the Mirabella arrived on Sunday. And three cable ships are on standby in Dockyard, led by Bermuda-based Cable and Wireless ship Sir Eric Sharp , which arrived yesterday morning from Puerto Rico.

Cable ships Agile and Bremer Flagge are also in Dockyard, awaiting further orders. Agile arrived in early March and Bremer arrived last week Wednesday.

And cruise ships entered Bermuda waters this week with the arrival of the Seven Seas Mariner on Thursday with approximately 550 passengers. The ship will dock in Hamilton and depart on Saturday.

Another cruise ship Crown Odyssey will arrive in Hamilton on Saturday with 961 passengers. It will depart at 5.30 p.m. on Sunday.

Cargo shipping into Hamilton continued with the arrival of the Oleander last Sunday, carrying 157 dry containers, 36 refrigerated, eight flatbeds, 24 cars, a dump truck, a trolley and a mafi.

The Oleander left Bermuda on Monday.

The Somers Isle arrives today with 86 containers including three refrigerated.

The ship departs tomorrow afternoon. And the Bermuda Islander will arrive tomorrow morning with 170 containers including 15 refrigerated, two horses and one catamaran. And the cement ship Cem Fox will arrive in Dockyard tomorrow.

The ship will leave immediately following off load of cargo.
