And the cruise ship Veendam returns to the Island tomorrow after a two year absence.

She is sailing from Boston and will leave for New York on Saturday. On Sunday the Royal Viking Sun is scheduled to visit briefly before continuing on to Florida later the same day.

Former Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corp. chairman Sir William Purves has become a director of a Bermuda shipping firm.

Dr. Helmut Sohmen, chairman of World-Wide Shipping -- owners of the one of the largest tanker fleets in the world -- said Sir Willam had joined the board of directors of World Shipping and Investment Company as of October 1.
