The Wedge & Divot offers more than mere bar food

area where patrons can sample the exemplary service of the Bermuda Golf Academy and relax after a hard day of fun. And though obvious that the centre clearly caters to the golfer, even those who don't want to participate in the sport can enjoy the restaurant's simple, yet tasty fare and full bar service.

Described as a `place for friends to munch, bunch, nibble and quaff', the Wedge & Divot is located in the Academy clubhouse and is open from 11 a.m.

until closing. Patrons are invited to `tee off' with appetisers like potato and leek broth or Bermuda fish chowder; to try the old-fashioned Niblick Bunker burger, or perhaps the Handicap, a breast of chicken topped with Bernaise sauce and served open faced on a bun. Wedge sandwiches include a grilled cheese supreme served on six grain bread, New York Roast Beef covered with mushrooms, onions, peppers and cheese or a ham and cheese croissant served with pineapple and Dijon dressing. Also on hand to tempt the palate are Fairway items -- Bombay curry, vegetable lasagna or pasta of the day. And though draft, domestic and imported beers are on hand, the Wedge & Divot also offers a variety of wines and spirits. The lounge/restaurant is equipped with a big screen cable television, naturally tuned in to the Golf Channel. And a pro-shop, outfitted with the most up-to-date golf equipment and apparel, is also in the clubhouse where demo clubs are available and top name rental clubs are for hire. "The Bermuda Golf Academy's range, designed for day and night play, provides golfers at all levels with somewhere to practice when tee times are not available at the Club of their choice,'' said Mr. Farge. "There's everything you need on site including a fitting and repair shop, the latest equipment, demo clubs and top name club rentals.'' Mr. Farge said the Academy should appeal to vacationers as well as business visitors who can't spare the time for a full golf game but wish to get some practice in at the end of their working day. "Individuals can either play golf or come into the clubhouse and relax in the lounge with the golf channel on TV. We're open every day including public holidays rain, blow or shine,'' he said.
