Top tug steams into local waters
Bermuda waters this morning.
The tug, which embarked from Port Cameron, Louisiana, is making an unscheduled stop to pick up spare parts before continuing its journey to Aberdeen, Scotland.
The spare parts have been flown into Bermuda and will be transported out to the tug by another vessel before being off-loaded at sea.
The tug is owned by the British Ministry of Defence and is used to regularly service the Falkland Islands.
Also scheduled to arrive today for a brief layover is the tanker Iver Expert .
The ship will discharge a load of fuel at the Esso oil docks and is expected to leave tomorrow.
But the US Navy ship Donald Cook will arrive at the Dockyard to give its crew four days of rest and relaxation.
In regular shipping news, the Oleander arrived on Sunday with 130 dry and 31 refrigerated containers, 24 cars, and five road trailers of steel and steel pilings.
And the Somers Isles came in on Valentine's Day with 103 dry and three refrigerated containers, one boat, one car, and bundles of lumber and steel.
Tomorrow the Bermuda Islander is scheduled to deliver 93 dry and 21 refrigerated containers.
