The Espartana berthed at Dockyard on Friday afternoon and departed Saturday for her home country, local agents John S. Darrell reported.

Darrell also represented two Canadian Navy ships this week, the Moresby and Anticosti , both minesweepers. They berthed at Dockyard from Saturday afternoon until Tuesday morning for rest and recreation before heading back to Canada.

In other shipping news, Meyer Agencies reported that the Bermuda Islander , delayed by bad weather on her return to New Jersey last week, is due to arrive this morning with a cargo of 81 containers, seven refrigerated ones, a truck, one office trailer and a private boat.

She hit bad weather in the Atlantic shortly after leaving Bermuda and was not able to leave the port of New Jersey until Monday of this week, Meyer said.

But she is expected to back as scheduled on Tuesday mornings in the next couple of weeks.

The container ship Somers Isles is due to arrive on Sunday morning and will sail that afternoon, Meyer reported.

The agency also reported another visit by the US Navy supply ship Strong Icelander on Monday morning, departing later that day at 2.30 p.m. She brought five dry containers and three refrigerated containers, tying up at Marginal Wharf at the US Naval Air Station.

Container Ship Management reported the arrival of the Oleander early Monday with a cargo of 123 dry containers, 39 refrigerated ones, a 27-foot boat, four cars and three trailers of shelving materials.

She sailed as scheduled on Tuesday morning and is expected back in the Island again on Sunday.
