for three months an application by Bermuda's Registrar of Companies to wind up the company.
Mr. Brian Fortier, the Judicial Manager of the Trinidad-based company, wants more time to come up with a rescue plan.
United Security's lawyer Mr. Mark Diel said yesterday: "I don't know if our application is going to be opposed or not.'' Last month, Mr. Fortier presented a report on the company's future to the High Court of Trinidad and Tobago.
The contents of the report have not been released but it is understood he recommended that the company, including its Bermuda branch, should not be wound up.
He also asked for additional time to come up with a more detailed rescue package.
United Security had approximately 2,000 policyholders in Bermuda. Its local offices were closed down earlier this year.
