Vorley appointed BIBA's new executive director
Nancy Vorley is the new executive director of Bermuda International Business Association (BIBA), as of November 10.
BIBA chairman, Glenn Titterton, said the executive committee carefully considered BIBA's future role and direction before establishing criteria for the new appointment.
He said, "BIBA is developing rapidly and its role is expanding to the extent that the focus of the organisation must be continually reassessed to ensure its effectiveness.
"The major initiative will continue to be the overseas marketing programme, but it is anticipated that the management of the local awareness campaign and other local associated projects will take on much greater significance.'' Ms Vorley, a Bermudian who speaks fluent Portuguese, stated: "I understand the importance of further developing the partnership between the private sector and government, as well as between international business and tourism.
And I welcome the opportunity to play an active role.'' Mr. Titterton said Ms Vorley brought strong management, project leadership and communication skills to the position.
