Weekly Bermuda Stock Exchange update

closed at $19.50 after a weekly trading volume of 39,041. The Bank of Butterfield's stock closed at $34, on a weekly volume of 5,736, and Bermuda Commercial Bank's shares closed at $9.50, on a weekly volume of 1,100.

Devonshire Industries' shares closed at $9.50, on a weekly volume of 2,310.

Chips traded for the first time last week, closing at $6.50, on a volume of 600.

Kentucky Fried Chicken (Bermuda) closed at $32.25 on a volume of 800. Argus Insurance Company closed at $10.50, on a weekly volume of 1,133. BF&M nine percent preference shares closed at $10, on a volume of 8,983.

Bermuda Press Holdings closed at $6 on a volume of 1,100, and Island Press closed at $5 on a weekly volume of 931.

Telco closed at $35 on a weekly volume of 2,000. Bank of Bermuda nine percent notes closed at $107.375 on a weekly volume of 25,000.

The Exchange Index closed at 1,115.42, down 17.82 points. The total share volume traded last week was 63,734, and the volume of bonds traded was 25,000.

The total value of shares traded was $1.2 million and the total value of bonds traded was $26,843.75.
