More than $1 million worth of securities traded last week as the Bermuda Stock Exchange index gained 11.88 points or 1.20 percent to close at 1,002.07.
Total value of trading was $1,019,307. Share volume was 70,315 with a value of $995,106.63. Bond volume was 60,000 worth $64,200.
Bank of Bermuda closed up 62.5 cents at $18.625 on volume of 38,068 while Bermuda Commercial Bank gained 12.5 cents to close at $5.125 on volume of 11,225.
Bermuda Aviation Services gained 12.5 cents to close at $2.50 on volume of 3,000.
Corporation of Hamilton US$ bonds gained four cents to close at 107 on volume of 60,000.
Declining issues were: BSL, down 50 cents to $6 on volume of 100; Argus, down 25 cents to $10.50, 564; Bermuda Container Line, off 25 cents to $3, 620; Bermuda Home, down 12.5 cents to $9.875, 566; and Belco, 12.5 cents to $19.875, 287.
Issues closing unchanged were; Bank of Bermuda warrants, $3, 38, Bank of Butterfield, $10.375, 8,063, BF&M preferred, $9.25, 6,000, Staples preferred, $9, 824 and Telco, $37, 960.
