A Meyer Agencies spokesman said the woman, who neither spoke nor understood English, was one of 1,072 passengers on Costa Cruises' Costa Romantica which visited the Island for one day on Tuesday.

Somehow the woman boarded a tender in Hamilton that was leaving for the North Carolina-bound Meridian in Dockyard.

By the time the mistake was discovered the Costa Romantica , which had been anchored in the Great Sound, was in Grassy Bay.

Marine and Port workers, in another tender, eventually caught up with the tender going to Dockyard and the upset passenger was taken back to her ship which was on its way to Gibraltar. The ship, which came to Bermuda from Miami, Florida, is cruising the world.

Its captain is Mr. Mario Palombo who was the former captain of Homelines' Atlantic which regularly visited Bermuda and was in port during Hurricane Emily.

In other shipping news Meyer reported that the MV Horizon arrived on Monday with 1,366 passengers. She is scheduled to leave this afternoon.

The MS Dreamward also came in on Monday at Penno's Wharf with 1,237 passengers. High winds on Tuesday morning prevented her from leaving St.

George's. She sailed to Hamilton yesterday morning and was scheduled to leave Bermuda this afternoon.

The Meridian was also scheduled to leave the Island this afternoon. She brought in 1,090 passengers on Monday afternoon from Wilmington, North Carolina.

Meyer also reported that the Canadian-registered fishing vessel the MV Frosti stopped -- on her way from Iceland to Panama -- in Bermuda from May 6 to 9 for water.

John S. Darrell said the Royal Majesty arrived from Baltimore on Monday with 856 passengers. She was scheduled to leave yesterday afternoon for Baltimore.

From there the ship will sail to Boston where it will begin its Boston-to-Bermuda route next Tuesday.

The Song of America arrived on Tuesday with 1,320 passengers. But due to inclement weather she bypassed St. George's and berthed at the Number Seven and Eight docks in Hamilton.

She moved to Number One dock yesterday morning and is scheduled to leave the Island tomorrow afternoon.

John S. Darrell also reported that the Canadian Forces' auxiliary vessel the Riverton stopped at Five Fathom Hole for a crew member change over on Monday morning.

The US Naval Coast Guard ship the Campbell left on Sunday afternoon following a four-day visit by the crew for sea provisions, rest and relaxation.

And the 800-foot cruise ship Crystal Symphony sailed on Sunday evening for Tortola in the British Virgin Islands after her maiden voyage to Bermuda from New York.

In container shipping news, Meyer reported that the Somers Isles came in on schedule on Monday morning.

It brought in 70 containers, including four refrigerated ones, treated lumber, one Suzuki sidekick, a mobile crane, steel decking, and a boat on a trailer.

It left for Jacksonville, Florida, on Monday afternoon.

The Bermuda Islander also came in on Monday with 74 containers, including four refrigerated containers. It left on Tuesday morning.

Container Ship Management reported that the Oleander arrived on schedule on Sunday with 131 dry containers, 33 refrigerated ones, two trucks, two cars, a 45-foot boat, and a 25-foot boat. It also left on Tuesday morning.
