acBrewer opens freezer warehouse

Ice cream lovers will be able to get more of their favourite flavours after acBrewer Distributors Ltd. opened its new freezer warehouse on Friday. The company, which entered the ice cream importation business in May 2008, marked the expansion of its freezing facilities with a roof wetting ceremony at the new warehouse in Hamilton. It decided to plan and construct the warehouse addition to its current premises at 9 Elliott Street, while Gibbons Management Services allowed the company to use the Bermuda Creamery warehouse for storing its products. Preparatory site work started in November 2008 and construction began in January 2009 under The Caulfield Partnership as architects, Landmark Construction as general contractors and Air Care managing the freezer system, with the facility expected to be fully operational by June. The freezer is now up and running and acBrewer Distributors, Ltd. looks forward to supplying Bermuda with ice cream brands, such as Blue Bunny, Pierre's, Hola Fruta, Dove, KitKat, Smarties and Thornton's in the future.
