Air Care donate $3,000 to six-year-old cancer sufferer Sharwin

Air Care has donated $3,000 (plus $1,100 from anonymous donations) to help six-year old Sharwin Fubler Jr travel to Boston for follow-up cancer treatments.

Air Care's general manager Robert Platt said: "Sharwin was diagnosed with a serious form of cancer, acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, last year and spent Christmas in the Children's Hospital in Boston.

"When we learned of Sharwin's story and the travel required for his treatment over the next two years, we couldn't help but want to help his family defray those costs."

Sharwin receives chemotherapy treatment twice a week in Bermuda and travels to Boston every seven weeks for follow-up visits with his specialists. He is currently in Boston on his second follow-up visit with his parents.

Sharwin's aunt, Air Care's financial controller Shawnette Mclarty, said her nephew is doing well and is spending the summer getting treatment and regaining his health.

"Air Care employees have also stepped up to the plate to join the company in contributing to this worthy cause," Mr. Platt said. "We wish Sharwin and his family all the best. We are on his team, helping to beat this disease."

Air Care is a Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning specialist, which sells and services split heating and air conditioning units specifically designed for the Bermuda market.
