ALARYS hailed a success
The ALARYS Congress wound up yesterday, with organisers hailing the event as a success.
More than 150 delegates from at least 17 countries attended the event, the Latin American Association of Risk and Insurance Managers' annual meeting.
The event was hosted by the Bermuda Insurance Development Council (IDC) in conjunction with ALARYS.
IDC chairman Allison Towlson said the event, staged at the Fairmont Southampton, had taken months of organising by committee members.
"The quality of the conference sessions and level of engagement of the participants has been excellent, demonstrating a real desire on the part of participants to engage in broader Enterprise Risk Management discussions," Ms Towlson said.
"The conference itself has highlighted opportunities for Bermuda products and opportunities for expansion into areas perhaps not previously explored.
"The calibre of the risk managers attending is top notch, and many of the exhibitors have made some solid business contacts.
"In addition, Bermuda has been asked to continue their membership with ALARYS and hence be a regular participant at the regional conferences, which in itself will generate further opportunities within the region."
