Amlin Bermuda has hired Charles Penruddocke from Arch Re to be leading class underwriter, Specialty Lines.

He will focus on proportional and special risks and report to Amlin Bermuda underwriting director Rob Wyatt.

At Arch Re, Mr. Penruddocke was the chief international property and specialty underwriter for the last 10 years.

He was instrumental in establishing the company and for expanding the international property and speciality lines. Before this, Mr. Penruddocke held senior positions with both PXRE and F&G Re, as well as establishing Greig Fester Reinsurance in the North America.

He has 35 years' of reinsurance industry experience of multiple business lines and is an accomplished linguist. Mr. Wyatt said: "Given the breadth and depth of his experience and his wide range of contacts in the London, European, Bermuda and US markets, we believe he will make a valuable contribution to the growth of our business over the coming years."
