Ariel Reinsurance Company Ltd. has announced the appointment of Tom Hulst to chief executive officer of its reinsurance operations.

Mr Hulst, who has been with the company since its inception in December 2005, will report to George Rivaz, the chairman of Ariel Reinsurance and CEO of Ariel Holdings.

Having served initially as senior vice president at the company, in mid 2008, he stepped up to the role of president.

He has 20 years of experience in the industry and has undertaken a range of underwriting and management positions.

Mr Rivaz said: "Tom is a talented executive who has been instrumental in developing the analytical and collaborative culture that is fundamental to our success. We look forward to his future contributions to Ariel's franchise."
