Attracting and retaining customers during the economic downturn will be the focus for a free eMarketing seminar held by GMD Consulting at the Chamber of Commerce head office next Tuesday.

The event, which runs between 12.30 p.m. and 1.30 p.m., is entitled "Keep them coming back: Building customer loyalty in a down economy" and will cover eMarketing, getting started and using eMarketing to increase business revenue.

It will also feature using eMarketing to retain customers and earn repeat business, to help increase business during an economic recession and measuring the effectiveness of an eMarketing campaign.

GMD Consulting president David Burt said that marketing techniques have been constantly evolving and what may have been relevant and leading edge five, or even three years ago, may not work in today's fast-paced, 24-hour, technological environment.

"What was once considered an effective way to reach customers and get their attention may not be current with today's best practices and customer demands," he said.

"The objective of our seminar is to help businesses break through the clutter and provide an up to date overview of the eMarketing in Bermuda and internationally. Today, current and potential clients can be anywhere, at any time. You have to be able to grab their attention and meet their needs.

"Whether you are a small or mid-sized company the seminar will share important trends in eMarketing and discuss how to get more from your marketing dollars while ensuring that your message is reaching the appropriate target markets. Email, SMS and Internet marketing is becoming an increasingly important part of business and is a proven method to level the playing field between smaller companies with limited budgets and larger companies."

"The seminar is free for all Chamber of Commerce members and open to anyone who is looking to increase their customer and revenue base. There will be a formal presentation with plenty of opportunity for questions and answers. Space is limited so anyone interested in attending should sign up quickly."
