Bank of Bermuda HSBC appoints deputy CEO
Bank of Bermuda HSBC has announced the appointment of Richard Moseley as deputy chief executive officer and the bank's management committee starting from next year.
Mr. Moseley, who is a seasoned professional within the financial services sector, having spent the past 30 years with the HSBC Group, most recently as senior executive within the Group Management Office in London, will commence his new post effective from January 4, 2010.
This follows the bank's former chief operating officer Michael Collins decision to quit and join rivals Butterfield Bank as executive vice-president of corporate development in August.
In his new capacity, Mr. Moseley will manage and be responsible for the bank's core customer groups, including private banking, personal financial services, commercial banking, payments and cash management, global banking and markets, as well as securities services. He will also develop key client relationships and work with the management committee on strategy.
During his time at HSBC, Mr. Moseley has fulfilled a number of roles, including global head of payments and cash management, chief operating officer for global transaction banking, general manager for corporate and institutional banking and general manager for card services.
Mr. Molesey has also held roles such as CEO and country manager for Midland Bank SA and Midland Bank plc., Paris branch, and head of group private banking, UK.
He has directly led two successful turnarounds for the HSBC Group in continental Europe and a multi-island offshore business, as well as bringing strong customer focus and global management experience to the position. He has a BSc. Honours as well as an ACIB professional qualification.
