The Bermuda Stock Exchange said that the company had informed it that Peter Spurway, senior vice president of finance had tendered his resignation.

Mr. Spurway, who was with BAS for ten years, was promoted to the post in May last year. He joined the company as chief financial officer and was named vice president of finance in 1995.

The release from the Bermuda Stock Exchange said his resignation was effective immediately.

When contacted at home yesterday he refused to comment on why he had resigned his post or say if his departure was amicable. According to the BSX, Andrew Soares has been appointed chief financial officer by the BAS.

Mr. Soares is a qualified CPA and has been promoted from his position of vice president of operations with the company.
