The 1998 Red Ensign Group conference began yesterday at the Belmont Hotel in Warwick and ends tomorrow.

The object of the conference is to discuss policy and legislative matters with the ultimate objective of improving the safety and quality of the British Register.

Maurice Storey, the Chief Executive of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, UK, will chair the conference.

The Bermuda delegation, headed by Capt. Pat Nawaratne, Principal Marine Surveyor, will lead the Bermuda registry team through the discussions and highlight the issues important to Bermuda.
