Bermudian students net BHA scholarships

Bermudian students are set to get a head start in their careers after The Bermuda Hotel Association (BHA) announced its BHA Scholarship 2008 winners.

John Harvey, CEO of the BHA announced the recipients were Edison Jecoa Tucker, who is studying for Bachelors Degree in Hospitality/Travel and Tourism at Johnson & Wales University in Miami, Florida, and plans to study towards his Masters Degree, and Sarah Jackson, who is in her final year at Johnson & Wales University and is currently doing an Associate Degree in Food & Beverage Management and a BSc Degree in Hospitality Management.

Stephanie Lewis, who is pursuing her Masters Degree in Hospitality Management online, was the other recipient.

Both Mr. Tucker and Mrs. Jackson received $7,500, and a special award of $3,000 was made to Ms Lewis, which will go towards their hospitality management programmes.

The BHA Hospitality Scholarship is given annually to Bermudian students following a career in the Bermuda's hotel industry.
